La Bohème Maison was inspired by the romantic opera La Bohème by Puccini, a love story set in Paris in the 1830’s capturing the Bohemian life of four friends pursuing love and creative passions.

The opera actually inspired the musical film Moulin Rouge which was named after the famous French cabaret house (c1885), well known for its glamorous setting, lively champagne filled parties and wild and colourful dance shows.

It was at this time the celebrated French Cancan was born and spectators were dazzled by the high-kicking dancers and elaborate costumes adorned with opulent feathers and glittering jewels.
